clone/dual display issue

Hi, I'm using a t61 (7661wbl) on vista business 32. The problem I am having is outputting to an ext monitor through the vga port. It was working fine then I did some updates through the Lenovo updater and installed the most recent optional updates and since then it is recognising that there is a monitor hooked up but just not displaying on my TV. It's not the TV as I have a desktop that displays fine on it using the same cable I have always used. For some reason sys restore is letting me restore before the updates dispite showing the restore point made before the updates. I rang the Lenovo line and their advice was to re install the O/S!! Dont want to be doing that atm. Despite having some knowledge I am struggling. I tried rolling back the driver for the display to no avail too.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi neilprd,

If you are using Vista's Control Panel then please try Intel's one. Visa Versa. You might also try presentation director.

Re: clone/dual display issue

Thanks, I used intel before and usually worked automatically. I d/l the director and it didn't seem to help :smileysad: I tried switching through the control panel too to no avail. I also tried making the monitor display 1st and the internal 2 and nothing. My intel GMA never used to say dual/clone display before the update that seems new since the update.
