digital audio output on T60p ?

I have a T60p 2007-F16 with xp professional 5.01.

I purchased a sony bravia digital tv and connected it to my t60p thru the docking station using a HDMI to DVI conversion cable. I get beautifil video output on the TV but I can't get any audio on my TV only on my t60p laptop speakers.

I downloaded and installed the latest soundmax driver 5.10.1.5520 and installed it but still no audio output ?

any ideas or suggestions are most appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the Lenovo forum.

DVI doesn't carry audio, it's video only. To get audio from your ThinkPad to your TV, you will need another cable. You can use the green 3.5mm stereo headphone jack on your dock with an adapter cable to twin RCA jacks to get analog audio to your TV. I've done this and have been very pleased with the sound quality.

If you want digital audio, you will need to use the coax digital audio jack on the dock's right side. How to get that signal into your TV is another matter. I haven't seen a TV with coax digital audio in, but maybe yours has it?
