t42 help. rescue and restore.. but..."no os found" ???

I could use some help.. I had some problems with my t42 and went to the rescue and restore mode.. I don't know how or why but a dark screen came up saying "no os found"  uh oh.   I tried installed a copy of my windows xp from my desktop.. some of it installed.. but definitely not all of it. it doesn't seem to work. Also.. it asked for me to install the disc with service pack 2 on it.. that sp 2 was on the windows cd that i installed.. so it apparently didn't recognize that either.

Is there anything I can do at this point or do I HAVE to order a recovery cd from ibm/lenovo??

Thanks in advance

Re: t42 help. rescue and restore.. but..."no os found" ???

the recovery partition on your T42 was probably corrupted, i had the same problem yesterday night with my X200. I just called up to get a new recovery cd set.

For you due to the age of your machine, you would have to get the recovery media from secondary sources, such as ebay or marketplace forum.thinkpads.com.
