I have a t43 I bought used. I think I have to replace the hard drive,  but do not have the operating system cds to reload. Should I just upgrade to a t60 for a about $130 or buy a new laptop...?

 

If I replace the hard drive, how would I get an operating system installed?

130 dollars for a T60 is alright. Most of the new laptop under 300 dollars are pretty poor in performance anyway.

You would need a recovery media or retail OS installation disc to get it working.
