Windows 7 is not available through Lenovo.
Lenovo recommends that you do a clean install when going from Windows XP to Windows 7, Here are instructions for doing that:

xp to 7, clean install... good advice!
as to where to buy, pretty much any legitimate retail source is going to have similar (if not the same) pricing. some folks mess with oem versions, but i stay away. finally, if you're a university student or staff/faculty, you may be eligible to puchase for very low price.
don't think you'll be able to get from lenovo, other than on a new machine, or as part of an upgrade program like happened for people who bought a new system in the window of several months prior to 7's general release. i have 2 machines that came with vista business 32 and got win7pro 32 for basically a nominal s/h fee. right now, there's a deal to get win8 for 14.99 for systems purchased between june and january (end of?). essentially, it's an incentive to purchase now vs waiting.
hth.

Unfortunately, kinysh, the XP to 7 upgrade program ended in 2010.

You might consider upgrading to Vista. It can be purchased very inexpensively and is a very stable operating system, far superior to XP in my opinion.

Hello,
In the past, I have purchased Microsoft Windows 7 directly from:
• Costco
• Fry's Electronics
• Microsoft Store
• NewEgg
The operating system is still readily available, so you might want to look at one of these, or a similar type of store (office supply store, for example). I would avoid any place which advertises what sounds like a "too good to be true price" as, chances are, it is probably not a legal copy that is being sold.
