E530 - special keys are not functioning

Question

I'm using Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 (3259-C2G) and i can't figure out why some special keys are not working.

I am not able to :

-mute my microphone (FN + F4);

-launch the camera and audio settings (FN+F5);

-switch the display output location (FN+F6);

-open wireless radio control (FN+F9).

Other special keys (F1, F2, F3, F7, F8, F10, F11, F12) are working fine.

 What could be the cause?

This is most like caused by some drivers are not updated/installed. Below here are the two things that will need to be updated.

1) Hotkey Features Integration

This package provides the utilities (sub packages) related for the special keys and buttons on your computer. The special keys and buttons are designed on the accessibility and usability. The utilities enable the full functionality for the special keys and buttons.

This package contains following sub-packages:

1.   On Screen Display
2.   AutoScroll Utility
3.   Lenovo Patch Utility

2) ThinkVantage Communications Utility

ThinkVantage Communications Utility is a assistant program for video and voice over the internet (Video and Voice over IP) software. It enables you to change all settings for the integrated camera, MIC and audio functions.

The following functions are provided:

• Integrated camera settings (only for some integrated camera models)
• Audio settings

These two updates will helpd with getting the Special Keys Working again.
