16GB Ram in Edge 15?

Hi, iv read people installing 16gb ram in thinkpads that officially only support 8gb max such as the t510 and x220 so I was wondering if anyone knows if the edge 15 would accept 16GB of ram? or is there particular reason that would stop this.

 

Im taking about the intel i5 version.

theoretically the chipset may support this configuration, but no one has tried it yet.
