I think you have to create a Location Profile manually.
My Edge 13 was delivered with a vodafone SIM. I now am using a t-mobile SIM for which I needed to create a Location Profile in Access Connections manually. It shouldn't be to difficult to do this.

Hi,
I had the same problem on my laptop. My service provider is not listed when it asked me to register on mobile broadband app.
This is how I got around it. can you check the following for me -
1. Dont pay attention to the please register your sim message when you launch the "lenovo Broadband connect" It wont find your sim and it iwll then ask you to phone up your provider.
Rather go directly to the access connections and click on the mobile broadband option. (Make sure data is enabled on your sim, you can do this through your provider)
Give it some time it will take a while for it to register on the network.. You should see the name of your provider on a beacon after about 5 minutes and the connect button should be enabled so you can press it.
Please post again if this doe not work ? I have a couple of other things for you to try if this does not work ?

Hi,
as u said i opened Access Connections app but Mobile Broadband and WiMax option is not available so i cant choose that option. only WiFi and Other Connections option is available. i searched some on web and i think there s SIM card slot under battery but i dont have WWAN adapter built-in as hardware
i think they put only WiFi adapter inside laptop. but it s annoying . i was happy that i thought i can use that SIM slot to connect via 3G Mobilebroadband without any external usb modem ![]()
still is there any chance to use that SIM slot ?
thank you for ur help.

Hi priority!
According to the support site, the Edge 13 0196-2ZG does not have a WWAN card
:

This would explain your symptoms.
Your choices are to see if you are lucky and have WWAN antennae in the lid then buy a compatible Lenovo WWAN card, or use an external USB WWAN dongle.

it gives you an easy option to upgrade your laptop with WWAN later on, it is far easier to purchase a WWAN card for around 150 USD and plug it in the free slot, then having to dissemble the entire lid assembly to install the WWAN wires.
