After having a problem with my laptop turning off with slight pressure on the bottom left, I decided to diagnose it and worked out that the casing of the hard drive was contacting one or two metal components of the circuit board that had broken the plastic barrier between them. I can solve the issue by placing something between the hard drive and the circuit board, or perhaps using electrical tape. Nevertheless I called support and they want me to send it in (as it is in warranty). This would cost quite a bit in postage so I am reluctant to do so. Could I apply some electrical tape or place some other barrier in place without voiding my warranty or will I have to send it in for repair? Thank you.
