No, not only in BIOS, I do it by this option in Catalyst Drivers, manual setting to dedicated graphics. Because if I leave this choice to drivers (by app demand on graphics) it doesn't work well.

Brightness can be adjusted through the Windows power manager, but not by the function keys..

Hi,

Just solved this topic on my e420.

When you install video driver, it automatically installs Intel video management software. It will start to control screenbrightness instead of Windows tools. If you want your hotkeys started to work you need to install only Video adapter driverbut no software.

Problem I'm having is that I can still control the brightness via the F7 and F8 buttons, but I no longer get the display interface on the screen.

Annoying because it's harder to quickly set it at a specific number.

(Happening with volume too.)
