It would be a nice way to see if we have an hardware issue, for sure. But I have freezes one each 2 or 3 days... it could be a LONG way, but good! Thanx.

**bleep**... at this point is an hardware issue...
I'll add a new stick of RAM, the same of stock ram (SAMSUNG). In this way I'll use dual channel too.
Anyone knows the correct timings for this specific model?
4GB SAMSUNG DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM 1333Mhz M471B5273CH0-CH9
Let me know please, bye!

same problem here, and Lenovo (and all the expert users on these forums) are just not having it! This is a REAL problem, and needs some attention from Lenovo. I work closely with our IT department at my company, and they are looking to move to Lenovo for the latest laptops...guess what my recommendation will be unless Lenovo gets this issue FIXED.

Colonel, with all due respect, you have asked "did you update the drivers" on every post.
It ain't the drivers.

Could you guys who have the freezing issue list your exact hardware configuration and the software that you use on your computer?
Hardware:
ThinkPad Edge E420s (Product ID: 440128U)
Intel Core i5-2410M
4GB RAM (Samsung M471B5273CH0-CH9)
Software:
BIOS v1.11 (8JET29WW)
Fedora 15 x86_64
Gnome 3
Ran a few passes of memtest86+ without any errors. My lock ups appear to be random, not tied to using any specific application (aside from kernel/xorg/gnome-shell which are always running). I have even had a lockup occur when I left my computer at the desktop without any additional applications running. If I remember correctly, the think light continues to function after a lockup (fn-Space), but everything else is frozen (including mouse cursor).
