Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

Just got the boss a new laptop - Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E320, whacked Win 7 Pro on as a clean installation as usual, though Win 7 didn't pick up a lot of the drivers automatically, so I had to download them, which was fine...

However, when I reboot, the Wireless Driver seems to change / fail, still shows as "Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000BGN" in Device Manager, but shows with an Exclamation Mark...

I've tried reinstalling the driver, but after a reboot it happens again...

If anyone can suggest a fix for this, I'd be extremely keen to try it!

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

Hi,

I was already using the latest driver...

I resolved this by running the driver installation again, but choosing Repair - all the sub-options were crossed out, so I enabled those and the installation was completely different, and worked...

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

It seems the issue wasn't resolved, as the boss has just brought it back and it's in the same state again...

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

Okay, so I want to throw this laptop out of the window now, and I certainly shalln't be considering Lenovo for future laptops if I can't get this resolved...

The driver's gone again!

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

Yes, SP1 has been on all the time... I've also been trying with the latest driver...

It seems to work for a while, and a few restarts, but then a few days later it drops off again... It's not the driver trying to update or anything, there's nothing for it to roll back to, the only thing that works is reinstalling the original driver file...

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

you say the only thing that works is reinstalling the original driver file. does that mean, the problem can be overcome by installing the original file, or that the problem will momentarily readdress itself with the installation of the original file?

Re: Edge E320 - Wireless Driver Issue

The problem occurs again shortly afterwards...

I've given it back to the boss twice now telling him I've reinstalled it, and he's brought it back each time, the last time he said it did work for a few days, but then stopped...
