I have same problem within 1 month, I bought it from USA. When I call lenovo support, they told me, "you have international carry-on wattery"
Does it will repaired by them? For wattary servise, does I need perchase bill, as my bill is still in USA?

I've had the same issue of No Power/No light twice already on my ThinkPad Edge E520 that was mfg 11/07, right in the middle of the problem EEPROM manufacturing period. Lenovo has replaced the m/b twice and the last time replaced the DC Sub Card as well.
I only have about 3 months left on my warranty and haven't been able to convince anyone thus far that the warranty should be extended w/o cost. If the EEPROM issue is well known, why are they replacing m/b's that have the same problem? If the pattern follows true to form, the next failure is likely to be when I'm just our of warranty.
Does anyone have info of a about how many EEPROM failures have occurred in the Edge E520 series? When I asked about this, was only told there haven't been enough to issue a recall. I feel like I have a ticking time bomb and can't do anything about it other than paying extra for an extended warranty. Anyone have suggestions on how to proceed with Lenovo warranty folks?

I just got back my Edge E520 after Lenovo replaced the m/b the second time. Hopefully they aren't using the problem EEPROM's anymore, but that was my though after having the first m/b replaced about four months ago.

I have encountered the same problem with 2 laptops in the last three days. (they are both +- 3 months old)
Will I have the same problem with the other systems also? I have +-30 Lenovo Thinkpads E520 in 3 different locations.
