Egde 13: Fan overheats & Booting takes ages

Hi everyone,

Since some days my Thinkpad Egde 13 (0197-2MG, with Windows 7 Professional & Ubuntu 11.10) is overheating very fast (fan is directly after pressing the power switch on 100 %) and booting takes ages.

Now Windows runs so slowly. So it is not possible to start Windows and shut it down.

The BIOS is up to date, but I can't find there any setup-functions for configure the temperature.

Can somebody help me?

download HWinfo32 or 64 depending on the version of the Windows you got. And check the CPU/GPU temperature.

Do you still have warranty remaining on the machine?
