I am just about to throw my thinkpad against the wall. This happened twice today. Typing away and hitting a shortcut accidentaly that disables my keyboard - instead of being able to type - use text - each letter turns different functions on/off. I have looked through the instruction booklet and googled but came up with NADA. The only thing that works is restarting the laptop - it's then back to normal. H E L P !!

I can feel your frustration as the laptop becomes not usable.
Kindly update the BIOS once and then check how it works. If the issue persist contact the support center for the assistance.

Thanks heaps for answering but I don't think you got what I was saying. This is not a bios issue. There is a shortcut I accidentally hit that changes normal typing keyboard to a "shortcuts" keyboard. When I hit it instead of typing and "F", it opens a "find box".
