I got an E420s less than 1 month ago. It has always been a bit slow on startup and sometimes when switching between windows and whatnot. I thought that it may be the millions of lenovo bloatware that came preloaded and for some reason there is over 100 processes running at all times.
It really bothers me that this issue is going on and when I called lenovo tech support about it they blamed google chrome even though I told them this happens even without chrome open.
This is really bothering me that my brand new laptop is worse than my old one, any help is more than welcome. Thanks!
System:
i5-2430M @ 2.40 GHz
Win 7 Pro 64-bit
8GB Ram

Hey Serge1410,
Thank you for the reply! I have Microsoft security essentials on with active protection to do a daily full scan. I have checked the add/remove programs and already removed what I dont want, that is what made me think about removing some of the lenovo stuff since there is like 20 programs on that list from here. I am currently running the defrag, but it only said 1% fragmented so I do not think that is the problem.

Hi, I am currently experiencing the same issue. The e420s is about 3 weeks old and was running flawlessly at the start( its i5, win 7 pro and 4 GB ram, 320gb @ 7200rpm)All of sudden the booting time decreased critically, have to wait some time before Google chrome opens up, same for PDF files. Was thinking would it be helpful to upgrade the RAM memory to 8gb and installing the ssd harddrive. Since I own it I only installed the visual studio c. No other software other than this. Also running the Norton antivirus and no bugs discovered.Any help with this?? Thanks a lot
