Hello Lenovo users,
Can someone please recommend where I can buy more RAM for my ThinkPad Edge system. I currently have 1 DIMM 4GB DDR3-SDRAM (1333 Mhz) already in there with the following part number m471b5273dh0-ch9, and it is made by Samsung and I would like to buy the same one. Any stores in Canada or maybe in Toronto where I can pick this up for a good price?
Thanks
A.

though it's good to have same manufacturer's RAM, but any manufacturer's DDR3 SDRAM 1333Mhz like Kingston, Corsair, Crucial has same characterstics.
So Enjoy any one

M471B5273DH0 part # is a mass produced module for the OEM's. This is a very new variant of the Samsung RAM lineup D-die based on 30nm Technology(as per www.samsungsemi.com). Also advertised as Green Memory module.
In the market mostly in ebay you can get the previous version based on C-die which is 40 nm technology. The part #: M471B5273CH0-CH9
You can also get a B-die.
The retail version of the Samsung RAM that you can purchase from the shops is a different version similar to M473B5273CH0-CH9, this is also based on C-die. This can be purchased on Amazon.com for $44.7
So right now your options are less. You may have to wait for a few months to get the exact part to match your existing module. You wont find it in any Retail shops and you have to rely on online shops like ebay, buysamsungparts.com to get this part.

The good news is Samsung has started shipping the retail versions of the D-Die memory modules.
This will be an exact match to your memory module
The part #: M473B5273DH0
The best part of this module is it is extremely low power and 30 nm technology module. Which is the best in the industry.
Performance wise this is gonna rock.

Raves,
The link you give goes to the Amazon paged for the MV-3T4G3/US. This if you look at the label on this part you see that it is a M473B5273DH0-YKO (as you pointed out).
My question is, how do you know that a M473B5273DH0-YKO is compatible with a M471B5273DH0-CH9? From searching the unhelfull Samsung website it seems like the speed grade issue is not important but what about the voltage difference?

The voltage difference doesn't matter. The speed is going to be the same(1333) when you pair with DH0-CH9. The only difference would be the power consumption.
My laptop is configured with a 8GB kit of DH0-CH9 & CH0-CH9. The kit works flawlessly performance wise. The power consumption of DH0 is supposed to be less than CH0(I cannot measure however)
The M473B5273DH0 & M471B5273DHO are just a representation of the type of distribution channel. The former is for retail and the latter for OEM.
The CH9 & YK0 in the string represents the min voltage level the module will work with.
The CH9 will work with min 1.5V while the YK0 will work with 1.35V(even lower power consumption).
Also the last 3 number are coded in this format
CF8/YF8=1066mhz
CH9/YH9=1333mhz
CK0/YK0=1666mhz
The only decision to make here is do you want to pay extra for the lower power consumoption cos the performace will be the same no matter which module you choose to pair with DH0-CH9
