If still in warranty, and say (in my case) only several days old (bought from a retail store, not lenovo directly) would it be possible to send the laptop back and get a matte finish rather than the glossy one?
I assume no, but I figure it's worth asking so someone who "knows" can say no.
I like the midnight black but I KNOW I would enjoy the matte finish so much more.

the 13" matte lid by itself is $67 plus tax and shipping. if you were inclined enough, you might be able to find a lenovo service partner in your area who would be willing to swap it out for you.

If it's only a few days old, then I suggest you get an exchange through the retailer from whom you purchased the Thinkpad. This is not a warranty issue.
