Hello,people,
since ten days I am owner of this device. Everything is working. Especially there is a very good transmission of wifi and a long during battery use.
But now my question:
Playing ac3 or other multichannel files like m2ts over an AV-receiver (Denon AVR-2312) there is only stereo played, shown in the receiver's display and in the software ac3flter2.2. I am using for playing mplayerclassic with its several plugins.
I think I am not the first who is doing this. I would be pleased if there is anybody to give me an advice. The HD-audio-card shoud manage playing miltichannel.
I am using Windows XP Pro 32 bit.
Many Thanks

I do not know if this will resolve the issue as I have not faced this issue
Please update the audio driver and check.

Hello Tanuj,
thank you for your advice, but I am using the conexant smart audio HD driver 8.32.27.9 from 2011-30-3 already. It´s the original from Lenovo. Wether it´s the newest I don´t know.
In addition and by the way: if I´m playing a DVD with sourround sound (DTS) with an extern DVD-drive all channels are played.
The problem seemes to be only with pure(audio) AC3-files.

Hello Tanuj,
in the meantime I have got some more informations. There are two audio-drivers and devices. First the conexant: it´s playing mp3 etc. and AC3-audio on principle. Second: 20671 AMD HD audio device: it´s for connecting the HDMI-output.
This driver is included in the ATI/AMD-Catalyst. From Lenovo you get vers.5.18.0.5507. If you are using "AMD mobilty Radeon driver verification tool" file 12-4_xp32_dd-ccc.exe is suggested. It includes vers. 5.18.0.5512 from 2/23/12. It´s the newest.
But it does not solve the problem for the present.
By chance I used Power-DVD 8 to play a DVD iso (mounted with magicdisc). There is under configuration-audio-laudspeaker a position SPDIF (but only when HDMI is plugged). And o wonder: it works with DTS, playing all channels.
Under this adjustment you also can play AC3.
Therefore it´s more a problem of the playing-software. VCL,k-lite,Gom and of course WMP don´t work though they partly have switches for SPDIF.
I wrote so in detail. I think there are some other Lenovo-Notebooks with HDMI-port having the same problem.
If there is anybody who is using another player working with DTS and AC3, please tell.
Under these conditions you can use the Lenovo E325 like a hardwarebased multimedia-player in your network.
Now I have tested BD-iso streaming over cabled network using Gb-and 100Mb-net. It works very well with power-DVD 10 and mounting by DVDfabvirtualdrive-not magicdisc, it does not work.
Testing WLAN there were problems with video and sound. I haven´t expected otherwise, though best connection was shown. WLAN even is scrab for high-data rates.
Facit: If you want to use the HDMI-port fully best combination: playing (nearly all media-files)with Power-DVD 8/10 and in addition for mounting *.iso DVDfabvirtualdrive and if possible use cable.
