Thinkpad E420 with i7-2640m proc

Hello,

I have a Lenovo E420 Thinkpad Edge (1141) with an i5-2450 @ 2.5 GHz.

I'd like to find out if anyone knows whether the cpu comes socketed in this model (and not soldered to the motherboard) and if it would be possible to basically take my processor out and replace it with the i7-2640. This machine is about two weeks old.

I suggest you, please do not open your Notebook cover by yourself. It may collapse your warranty period. You can visit the nearest service centre to get it replaced. Please refer the below menioned web link to locate the nearest service centre.

Alternatively please call Support Center on 1-800-426-7378, Select "Option #1". They will assist you for the issue.

the CPU is socketed, but you may void your warranty through this upgrade.
