edge e420/e420s touchpad...

[ Edited ]

So I know the whole deal that the edge 420s is slimmer and lighter and stuff, but I also noticed that there are no actual buttons on the bottom of the touchpad. There are buttons at the top to go with the Trackpoint stick,  but unlike the e420 they got rid of both sets of buttons.

Does anyone know how clicking works for the touchpad on the 420s? Is it just a tap to click? (assuming you aren't awkwardly using the buttons on top of the pad) Or, does the whole touchpad actually press down slightly in a similar fashion to the Macbook?

Much thanks for any clarification

Re: edge e420/e420s touchpad...

The whole touchpad presses down slightly (similar to the Macbook). Pressing to click with two fingers will give you a right-click. While I haven't used Windows with mine, I assume the touchpad can be configured to handle tap-to-click, numerous scrolling options, and possibly even to change the press to click behaviours.

In addition (assuming you're not running linux and getting hit by randomly functioning trackpoint issue), the three buttons above the touchpad can also be used for clicking.
