Doesn't give the full model number in the PO either. But it does say:" W WWAN ANTDRMUS".

Hmmm... My packaging box had my full model number, too. At least you know you can upgrade. I'll find out when I pop my case.

Thanks so much! Done on 183827F with parts from eBay. Works perfectly on Telus in Canada with great speed and better reception in remote areas than I can get on my phone. I used two guitar pics and a small screwdriver to open the case, and it still looks factory. One snag I had was that you need to hold the card in place with a screw once installed, and it was not supplied. I simply pulled a screw from the bottom of an old laptop though, gently confirmed the threads were identical, and I'm mobile!

I should add (and correct) as a couple of people have asked - I used the Thinkpad gobi 3000 card, and purchased from Amazon.ca (not ebay, my mistake). It was around $125.

I have 1838 25 U model that I bought   month ago from Amazon, also i bought Gobi 3000, after reading all posts I realized that I do not have antenna inside?! What a pain, and documents are misleading, Guide says it is upgradeable, WWAN is an option?! Yes if you have antenna, if you don't you are screwed. Is there any possibility to add antenna?

Hi, I read that my 1838 5RZ is compatible with the GOBI 3000 part number 60Y3291. Anybody know where I can buy this? Im traveling to Miami, where can I buy it?
