Lenovo returned repair apart and damaged. Sent back to Levono to repair. They want $970 to replace system board and usb.(Unit is 5 months old). They want $950 to repair the damage they performed. $1920. Yikes perhaps the worst experience for me with repairing a product. Mostly a company would repair damage they performed. My problem is progressing in the wrong direction.

@pghFL - I know I thought I was re-reading the thread where I saw his post. I guess he/she's quite happy with the service that felt the urge to share it everywhere. Good for him/her...
@ OP - sorry you're having all those troubles. I cannot imagine going thru all of that myself. That's service at the suckiest level possible. I cannot understand how all this is happening to you when you're perfectly within warranty coverage... Really sorry.
Ron

Just got my Ideapad K1 tablet back from their service center. Wouldn't boot - looped at the nVidia screen indefinitely. I had to box it up and ship it in myself (unlike the box that you get for thinkpads and one poster in this thread got). Anyway, it came back with a replaced motherboard and (THANK GOODNESS!) Android 3.1 O/S - I've had nothing but trouble since the upgrade to 3.2.1.
I think there must have been evidence of liquid damage or abuse on the OP's Ideapad for them not to repair it under warranty.
