I am loving mine.

Re: Is TPT worth buying?

for a dream tablet, gnote would have full SD slot :smileywink:

still thinking if that sd card adapter is comfortable enough.. it's like I cannot charge tablet while watching photos on SD card nor can I lie on bed, put tablet on pillow and watch photos because it can broke connector :/

So I am now like SD card in adapter and pen (gnote) or sd slot inside tablet without pen (sony). Unfortunately, both (gnote and sony xperia) are not in Slovakia yet.. I was in Samsung and Sony shops yesterday, Sony Xperia tablet will be in our market before Christmas, Samsung should be sooner but they didn't tell me more then autumn. And I won't buy it from US eshop because I want to touch it first :smileyhappy:

Re: Is TPT worth buying?

People, stop talking about the S*msung Galaxy Note

JaneL is cracking down!

Seems Lenovo knows quite well how the TPT stands up against the competing tablet....

Yes.

My post above was censored, I guess for being too subversive?

Below is more or less my original post in response to Ron 2k_1's note that he had ordered a GNote 32GB.   Sigh.  Is that really a post that responsible moderators need to edit, or is Lenovo taking a page from the Chinese government on information control.  I suppose I'll be barred from the forum soon at this pace.  Thanks to all who have shared their insights with me for the past year.

The original "subversive" post, in reference to the Galaxy Note:

"I am loving mine.  Did you see the other thread about it?  Praise for the GNote from TPT owners became so effusive that a Lenovo forum moderator closed the thread and told us that if we want to discuss it further to find another forum.  Another Lenovo fail."

you giving people kind of "choice", but actually you just advertising (really!) another tablet. That's qualified like spam and I agree with lenovo mods on that.

Re: Is TPT worth buying?

I was censored for starting a thread about how we're getting censored.

Doesn't surprise me, Lenovo is a company based in China....

Can we not talk about the TPT2 in this forum? Have we not talked about the iPad?

Re: Is TPT worth buying?

Any mention of a competing memory brand gets xxxxxxxxed over automatically in the Corsair official memory forum so Lenovo isn't doing too bad.

Re: Is TPT worth buying?

Yeah, there are many sites like that.  There are even some no-name general discussions forums where if someone mentions another forum that relates or is involved in the same topics or target groups; they'll delete the post and let you know that it was in contravention to their rules.

Which leads to the point of: Where are the rules?  I haven't read any and cannot really recall if I was asked to read any when I signed up for this forum.  Not to say that I always read the Terms and Agreements page when I sign up for anything, but it will be interesting to see if in the rules it is discussed that we are not to patronize another brand... If it is, then I can't help to say that they are in all their rights to delete posts or block threads.

But in reality as long as we stay in discussion of "Is TPT worth buying" then we should be ok.  The strange thing is that the introduction of other options is by all means within the scope of whether or not to invest in the TPT.  Some have shared the idea that the TPT is still supreme due to its plethora in ports; and others are simply saying to go for something new.  It just so happens that this new thing, was a GNote.

But something all should keep in mind, even the originator of this thread, is that we (those who participate in community sharing/forums) are usually a lil more tech savy and more critical than the regular user.  Besides the power button and USB port issue of the TPT, my believe is that the general public is quite happy with their ThinkPad slate.  We on the other hand would complain on things like the tablet taking too long to come on when pressing the power button, or it being to slow, the pen being a bit stoppy, wireless connections dropping sporadically, the position in which the ports were placed were not engineered intelligently, etc, etc.  So, my believe is that for the regular non-tech geek, the TPT is an awesome tablet. If you do get one, I'll advice you do what somebody else says; take that has already been serviced by warranty and had the power button and USB port reinforced.

Another question to the OP.  Why is full SD such a big factor for you.  The GNote has a mini SD port, if you need the mini SD card to be placed in other devices then ensure you have a class 10 SD card and an adapter to go into the other device and you can use the card interchangeably...  Just a thought..
