OTA2 fix list [ Edited ]

As promised I am putting a list of issues fixed in OTA2. I will update this list as I get more info.

As you all know that OTA2 for US, UK & WE was supposed to release today, however it has been delayed due to a critical issue found in our internal testing. I will provide an update on Monday.

Fixes

1.Problem with Email getting stuck in Outbox. - issue reported in the forum

2.Email - apostrophes issue resolved. - issue reported in the forum

3.Can't encrypt internal storage device when connected to Active Directory.

4.Problems with German language translation. -- issue reported in the forum

5.English text produced when using a different language folio keyboard. - issue reported in the forum

6.Currency spelling and naming issues in Lenovo App Shop.

7.MTP error. When you connect to a computer running Microsoft Windows XP, file and folder names do not show correctly.

　

Features

1.Device level proxy support has been added.

2.You can now change the default browser in LuckyLauncher Zone 5.

3.New version of Docs To Go allows you to use a USB key.

4.Battery charge icon gauge is more accurate.

5.New version of Arcsync new GUI to improve text display issues.

6.End user can't disable the Lenovo Device Administrator after a policy has been applied.

Update 01/31/2012

Fix:

8. gps.config updated

9. Optimize default settings to reduce CPU utilization and increase battery life.

10. Fixed Lenovo App store widget

11. Lenov app shop will not require users to enable "unknown sources"

Feature:

7. Add option to disable buttons

Settings --> Screen --> Check "Disable Physical buttons"

Will add to the list as I get more info.

New Schedule if testing goes well this week

US --> early next week

UK, WE --> end of next week

ROW, CN, JP --> end of next month.

Thanks for keeping us informed! The TPT is the first Lenovo product I've ever purchased. I'm a web cartoonist http://comicsrack.com And my partner and I wanted to have the mobile studio, and so far It's been Great! A few minor glitches which I'm glad to see Lenovo is responding to. And thank you/Lenovo for having such a place as this forum to have good feedback (good and bad) directly from it's customers! Looking forward to the updates and good job sir!

I am concerned that nothing has been mentioned about the GPS issue. I do understand that more info will be coming later. This an important issue. I hope it has been fixed, as well.

Am I the only one disappointed by this list? I see nothing major, nothing game-changing. Apostrophes... text... spelling... naming issues. Come on. Palm recognition? I can't believe we've waited so long for 13 glitch fixes.

First, Thank You for keeping your word in getting this list out.

While I very much appreciate the email fix for Exchange servers, I agree that it is a little puzzling that the GPS issue was not addressed..  Is there some issue with changing the default SATs away from Asia that is more complicated than proper addressing?

I am also disappointed, but am also keeping in mind that this is a preliminary list. Hopefully the issues we've waited on for so long will be fixed in this OTA.

Right now I'm also quite disappointed. I hoped at least one of the issues many people in this forum want would be solved (Pen-only mode, NTFS, Backup solution).

This changelog reads like something which should have been integrated at the launch of the TPT

I really hope the list will grow or I'll lose all my hope in this company and will try to do my best to get my money back...

Thanks for the time you are taking to try to address some of the issues of the people. But seriously, i was highly expectant of having deep and big changes.

Anyway, I hope Lenovo hears its users and do something about this....its serious!
