OTA3 update (ICS 4.03)

YESSSSSSS! GOT IT! Version A400_03_0064_0126_WE

Runs like a charm, no need to reinstall any App. Let's see how it works in day-to-day business. But looks that the table runs really faster (as expected).

* pattern unlock recognition performance?

* browser stability?

* pen-only mode? are there dead zones still?

* wifi connection stability?

make a video with your phone (if you have one) and post it somewhere. Turn on the tablet, unlock, run some apps.. test penn...

Update:

I didn't do a factory reset and all my data is still there (maybe you do a backup nevertheless)

• Some facelift on standard apps (calendar, mail,...) - looks fresher
• mail client now (finally) is able to synch ALL mail, not just the last month
• battery / power seems to run down like Haile Gebrselassie and charging speed seems to stay quite slow - I assume it's a hardware issue
• GPS works (didn't before)
• Pen only mode available - didn't try it yet
• Display not responding the first 3 seconds when logging in - still there
• System seems not to be quicker or slower than before
• In the bottom bar there are standard Android Icons and Quicklaunch Icon is still there (didn't annoy me too much in the past)

All in all it seems that updating is worth trying - at least (after 15 minutes) nothing got worse... ;-)

* pattern unlock recognition performance?

   - not able to test, due to company security settings, unlock with password takes a second to activate the keyboard

* browser stability?

   - using chrome beta now ;-)

* pen-only mode? are there dead zones still?

   - pen only mode available via settings, no dead zones for me

* wifi connection stability?

   - stable connection

first I forgot that I changed the keylayout.

After that everything went smooth as hell- thanks lenovo!

First impressions:

• faster&smoother! no really, I'm not imagining this...
• rootkeeper worked - thank god!
• lenovo app shop parsing problems gone - gmail update possible
• gps - hmmm, still nothing after 5 min. but I'm indoors close to a window
• like the new icons on the left but dislike the new clock an green battery icon - too much color
• the freakin wheel is still there :-(
• gmaps doesn't crash (so far)
• nice browser!!!

   - still have to wait 2 sec: issue not fixed

   - I still have the same dead zones even if on pen-only mode: issue not fixed

* still no possibility for hiding the bottom bar (so annoying for presentations)

* GPS works after a restart; lets check if it still stops working over time

* still no possibility to remove the favorite app wheel; it is even worse now: its icon is much brighter than the other icons on the bottom bar

* cam: no idea, the app instantly crashes even after deleting cache/data (?!)

Yes, after some time, still dead zones I'm sorry to say Did not try out the pen-only mode yet.

Beware!!!!

For everyone who uses Notes Mobile - it stopped working on my TPT. Written words dissappear as soon as the pen disconnects with the screen. No new words are visible. Only when I switch pages I can see that my input has been taken, but I can't see it in the usual working mode.

That's veeeery bad - does anyone else have this problem?

FYI: I switched to Pen only mode before opening Notes Mobil. It didn't work. I diabled pen only mode, but the problem still exists. Didn't manage to re-install Notes Mobile to try a clean install.

Probably the dead zone is only a private hardware isue. I use mine all the time and never had a bump. And belive me I write fast and sometimes small too. Mostly I write like 3 words on a line and than after a few lines I shrink it to be able to put more content on the page.  I'm talking here about the Notes Mobile.
