I had to take my Thinkpad Tablet to a service Station for repair due to the power switch. When the case was opened they found the power switch had no soldering connections to the motherboard at all.

Same problems here, I bought the US Version of the tablet.
First I only had some problems that seemed to be software related, like it did not want to wake up.Now the behavior when pressing the switch changed a bit, there is no "physical" response any more when pressing the switch in a specific angle. It feels like something changed inside of the tablet. I sometimes need several tries to get the button to work and unlock the device.
Not very cool for the undestroyable "Thinkpad" Logo ![]()

We purchased 31 of these tablets about 2 months ago and started having issues with the USB ports snapping off and we had 4 replaced. Now I have two with the power button that has broken off. Will be calling support in a little bit.

Ahhhh, I couldnt wait because i was in the process of updating my website, so I had to open the tab, and when i did, guess what fell out, the power button that should be attached to the board. For such a sturdy built tab, this is disappointing.
So i powered it on and will go tomorrow to get it soldered. THANKS FOR THE LINK

Hello All,
Appreciate if someone in the US with a bad switch to contact me, would want to get this sent in to engineering for them to investigate further.

I now have this problem. Two days ago the power button stopped springing back into place. It now is sunk into the TPT and does not work. I am going to open a warranty ticket. Let me know if can help you in your request.
Luckily I figured out how to ' jumpstart' the TPT back awake: Plug both ends of the charging cable into the TPT at the same time. It tricks the TPT to think it is charging from its own USB. I also have been using the ' lock' widget to put it back to sleep. But obviously this is not ideal so I will ship it back this week for service.
