LENOVO: will this be further investigated or not?

We feel that this is a problem of passive adapters in general, and not a problem specific to TPT. If the passive adapter worked on Honeycomb, it may have been by luck. As you know the native resolution of HDMI output has not changed between HC and ICS, and we cannot control what the passive adapter does.
I personally do not have any passive adapter. I had a similar problem with another device (not TPT) where a passive adapter didn't work properly, so I got rid of it. Now I would only use an active converter. I personally can't risk guessing whether the passive adapter is going to work with the combination of my device and the projector. The active converter always works.
Having said that, I realize this is affecting you and some others. I have asked the development team to see if they have any passive adapters to test with. But I can't guarantee we'll be able to find any solution.

I'm quite sure staff here is not responsible for changes in the TPT software or in position to change the TPT software .
But:
Lucky us it worked before even it was not featured!?
I think this is not an answer making people happy with NOlove.
How many people with this problem and how many voices outside the forum would be needed to make a passive adapter working again?

Eh, really a shame we have to buy another gadget and then always seek a power supply for it.. Is honeycomb so special platform so that it could send an 1280x800 to any device it connected to?
It's definitely a proprietary software lenovo just refusing to diff and fix(as ics seems still doesn't have all HDMI api-s).
btw, there said HDMI-VGA. What about HDMI-HDMI?

I don't get a picture from miniHDMI (TPT) --> HDMI (with a projector using a media panel in our offices). Since this didn't work with Honeycomb either I don't want to blame Lenovo for that.
But, as I already said: It worked in this rooms with Honeycomb using the VGA panel (with the ASUS VGA adapter). And also I understand that Lenovo wants to assign this issue to Android, I think it is Lenovos task to adapt Android to their hardware.
Unfortunately, I bought 5 TPTs that currently are more or less useless. Fortunately, I managed to stop the order for another 4 TPTs when the ICS issues came up...

A big dilemma for me now that ICS ROW is out. I like the ICS features but I don't want to lose the 720p output from the ASUS adapter. I can understand it is difficult for Lenovo to solve the problem with adapter from others. I only wish Lenovo would come out with its own HDMI-VGA passive adapter for use with the TPT.

Problem identified. It is the ASUS adapter that is the culprit. I have updated the TPT to ICS (ROW) and yes, the VGA output becomes low resolution. As I have another standard HDMI-VGA passive adapter (no brand that I bought from eBay) that I used with my Galaxy Note, I decided to test it with TPT. I connect the TPT to an HDMI switcher box (also a passive device that I bought from eBay), then from the HDMI switcher to the HDMI-VGA adapter and then to the VGA monitor. Output was back to where it was before:720p!
While no as simple as the single ASUS adapter setup, at least it is a workaround for me.
BTW, the ICS runs very smooth for me and no problem so far except for the non-functioning GPS. All in all, I am happy.

@Bchau: Thanks for the info.
To summarize;
TPT <-> Mini-HDMI-2-HDMI cable(?) <-> passive HDMI switcher <-> passive HDMI-VGA adapter <-> Monitor/Beamer
correct? Maybe you could also please provide a picture of your construction?
And why is the HDMI switcher necessary?
(and I don't agree that the asus adapter is to blame.)

I do presentation a lot. I have the HDMI switcher simply because there are times when I want to show phone and tablet screens onto a data projector. So I would have the following:
TPT >>> HDMI switcher >>> full HDMI-VGA adapter >>> data projector
Galaxy Note >>>
I also bought the ASUS mini HDMI-VGA adapter because it would be handy if I only need to show TPT onto data projector.
Yes, I have lots of adapters and cables for different scenarios. I only wish all the mobile devices would standardise on one output port. A dream.

I have just bought from eBay a mini-HDMI to HDMI (male-to-female) adapter. When it arrives next week I would test it with the full HDMI-VGA no brand passive adapter that I have used in my previous setup. I will let you all know the result. Stay tuned.
