Thinkpad Android Tablet Encryption Issue

We want to use the Tablets for employees to go to clients and fill out fillable pdf forms but the problem is that when the Tablet is Encrypted, any documents edited and saved on the internal storage aren't seen by the Windows PC when it's plugged in via USB.  I can see files that were there before the encryption was done and any files I copied to the encrypted tablet, but anything that was modified on the Tablet while the tablet is Encrypted can't be seen from a Windows PC.

Is there something I'm missing or has anybody came up with a fix/work around?

I have been using encryption for about a month and there are definitely side-effects of using encryption, but I have not experienced the issue you mention.

When I plug in the tablet, it asks me what I want to do (mount, charge, etc). If I select to mount, it asks me for the drive password and then connects it up without issue.
