What Cisco VPN support was added?

TPT Type/Model - 183822U
Build # - ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0037_0075_US
Thank you Lenovo for the update and I look forward to future updates as well.  After the update, I noticed much improved performance in WiFi.
In a few posts from @MARK_LENOVO in different threads, he mentioned that Cisco VPN Support was added. The OTA1 Enhancements page lists it as well. But even after the update, my VPN options (Setting -> Wireless & Networks -> VPN settings -> Add VPN) are the same.  I still have the same four options:  PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec PSK, and L2TP/IPSec CRT.
Could someone from Lenovo or a forum user expand on what "Cisco VPN support was added" meant?
The company I work for is not setup for AnyConnect so the Cisco AnyConnect App for Lenovo Devices does not work for me.  I need native IPSec/TCP or IPSec/UDP support on my TPT and I was hoping this is what was delivered in the update.
If any one knows of a 3rd party app that supplies IPSec/TCP or IPSec/UDP, please let me know.
Thanks everyone for all the great information that you post in the forum.  I visit the forum several times a day just to see what I can learn from everyone.

Re: What Cisco VPN support was added?

I'm running VPNC on my rooted Android phone that required tun.ko module to be built into the kernel or added manually. It works very well with the ROM that I'm using.

Since the TPT is not currently rootable, it is unlikely that this would work.

Try to install & run the VPNC app from the Android Market to determine if the basic requirements are built into the system already.

The VPNC app from the Android Market will install on the TPT but when I try to run it, it says in needs root.

Re: What Cisco VPN support was added?

You still have to use the Lenovo AnyConnect Client from the market. Up to this update, the client was able to connect to your companies ASA Firewall, but no traffic would passed through, when you are connected over 3G. WiFi (as in the markets description) worked.

Since the update it works as well over 3G. At least for me. Seems stiil kinda unstable, but it works.

But AnyConnect will only work if you company is setup for AnyConnect, correct?  That is what I was told, which could be wrong. That why I wanted native support on my TPT.

That is correct. AnyConnect is a SSL VPN client that Cisco released so your company need to have the proper license in order to allow AnyConnect client to connect to your corporate network.
