Would tablet battery be overcharged? [ Edited ]

Hi all

I am curious about Lenovo's Tablet battery. Would Android's default or using Lenovo or custom power manager app (if any) sense a fully charged battery and stop charging until the battery drops below a threshold level? or you have to take out the charger when the tablet is fully charged to prevent overcharging?

As some user maystill have the fear of having battery overcharged and causes premature failure.

I've loaded my TPT over night more than one time and never got problems.

I do believe it stops charging when its full. Like my Android phone its hot/warm when charging and cold when fully charged.

theres an overcharge/overvolt protection built into all lithium battery
then theres a charging script built into the kernel to control it.
no need to worry, it isnt the 80s anymore

Two years ago, not in the eightys, first netbooks of a famous company did overcharge the battery only a bit...so it did not get warm while charging....

All the time connected it died around a year later.

Hopefully all companys learned more about maximum voltage of lithium cells...

Apart from overcharge question, I guess you're also trying to understand if there is some sort of setting like Power Management in ThinkPad to decide when to start/stop charging to protect the battery lifespan. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Anyway, we don't see that yet in the tablets. Maybe a good add-on if it's doable.

Well I not sure if such an app exists yet. If there was one, it may require ROOT.

One of the best apps to improve your battery is SetCPU. It requires ROOT but it allows you to control your CPU power. You can set it to bare minimum for just sitting there. A little more power for browsing or so. And max power for the more intense games or if plugged in. It has many options.

So if something like these where built in future tablets that would be nice.
