can not connect my tablet via usb or bluetooth to my laptop

hi all 
i ave just bought a thinkpad tablet and am having toruble trying to connect the tablet to my laptop via USB and bluetooth

my laptop is a lenovo thinkpad edge E520

is there some program i am ment to down load to the laptop so the 2 can speak

i have tried the windows based trouble shoots and the lenovo trouble shoots and neither have worked so far

getting frustrated

Hello Magpi,

When connecting through via USB, are you connecting through the Full-USB or the Micro-B-USB?

Did you try searching the Board using the search tool at the top of this page? If not, then enter bluetooth for one search and "usb connect" for another. Also, see if you're able to connect some other device, like a phone, to the laptop using BT.

am using the micro usb provided
plus have tried with other micro usb's that i own

ameridian i did do a search first and when i couldnt find one for my issue i posted my own thread


as to the blue tooth issue i have tested with other BT devices and they are connecting

have also uninstalled and reinstalled BT drivers and retested with both tablet and phone
phone works tablet still wont connect

Have done another Iso test
The tablet is pairing but then won't connect.

Have also tested with my android phone (2.3) and it pairs with the phone bit won't then let me connect to the phone
(Was going to use the phone as a GPS recover to get around the GPS issues with the tablet)

With BT turned on, you should see all paired devices at the Settings/BT screen on the TPT. Are you seeing that?

At the BT settings window on the laptop you should have all boxes checked (assuming Win7) except the "Turn off BT adapter" box. Do you have that?

With the above in place, you should be able to connect by just touching the laptop BT paired device at the TPT's Settings/BT screen.

For USB connection.....Make sure "Allow sync with PC" is checked at the Settings/Accounts & sync screen on the TPT.

ok update the usb is now working

not sure how but it is so i will not question it

Ameridian i had checked setting for usb and they were as you said they should be but still were not working at the point 
turned on laptop yesterday and sudenly it was playing nice

as for BT it is still not working

checked the bt settings and everythign sept for adaptor is ticked
