pre-paid 3G card in UK

Hi all,

Had my 64GB TPT for a while now and thinking of getting myself a prepaid 3G SIM card and trying that out. Am in UK. Anyone recommend anything? googling gives me a confusion of pay-per-month, and "ipad only" results...

Yes, I did search the forum first :smileyhappy: thanks in advance for any tips

p.s. also considering, once more, the keyboard folio, but there's enough discussion already about that..

I bought a 3 card - PAYG pre-populated with, I think, 5Gb.  Works a treat and the credit lasts 12 months.

Re: pre-paid 3G card in UK

I used a vodafone payg sim but only as I already had one. I got itback when the tarrif was better, I.e. credit lasts 12 months and 10 pounds got 1gb which is quite a lot, I would stay clear of o2 and tmobile

Also vodafone has the best covrerage in genera.

Cheers

I will be going to Europe soon, and will also be spending about a month in UK. Any suggestions for a prepaid card that would work any where in Europe (or at least Western Europe/EU)?

Thanks all. Can you post some links to your working sims? Alternatively  I can just take my TPT along to the local phone shop.

Re: pre-paid 3G card in UK

You get a normal data modem and just take the sim out, I also had to create a custom setting for it in the tpt settings as the defaults only seem to work with contract.

If you go to someone like carphone warehouse and ask them about tarrifs for payg data you can make the decision of which one you should get. You will then just need to find the right settings but google can sort.

If you want to roam in the eu I would look at gettinga payg sim in each country as the data cost would be huge if you use a uk sim abroad.

Cheers
