problem with 3G and WiFi

Dears,

I have Thinkpad tablet  Model: 183947G Running Android Version 3.1 with Kernel 2.6.36.3.

I cannot able to use 3G and WiFi together.

If I put my sim card, I can not access the wireless (Wi-Fi) connection, and I need to remove the SIM and reset the tablet to factory reset to connect the Wireless (Again).

I think it is a software issue because we have around 1500 tablet here...all are facing the same problem

Please @lenovo have a look on this.

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

[ Edited ]

After several months I'm still stuck at same problem (as described above).

I have the latest Kernel version (2.6.36.3 with Biuld Nmber ThinkPadTablet_A310_02_0039_0089_WE)

but different machine type and model (18382BG)

Uporn turning WiFi on nearby networks signal flashes for a moment and then suddenly all the networks get "Not in range" status.

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

The problem with Wifi and 3G is there from the first Kernel.  There are a lot of countries (for example Slovenia) where users can not use 3G and WiFi without a factory reset, but Lenovo does not care about it.

Look in the thread WiFi and 3G where the discussion about this problem started long time ago without a resolution.

A lot of my collegues returned the tablet back to Lenovo because they don't care about the users and their problems.

Best regards,

Kristijan

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

Hi Friends,

I have the same problem, when I connect my SIM card and remove it later, then my WIFI connection is enabled/on and shows "scanning" all the time but cannot connect/find any Wifi connections, even my saved wifi connections it shows "not in range". Please find a solution as soon as possible, the only solution we have here is only to factory reset, which's not an ideal solution, Please Lenovo help us.

My Tablet model is 1839/47G, Android 3.1. Kernel 2.6.36.3. BaseBand Ver. R3B01

Regards,

Ali

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

Hi all,

I've spoken to the respective teams that deals with the tablets, unfortunately they tried to replicate the issue in various regions AMER, EMEA and APAC, but still unable to replicate the issue. We believe that this may be caused by the country specific sim configuration. It appears to happen with specific sim card and 3g providers.

For the time being i would suggest for the OTA3 which is scheduled to be release very soon.

Will let you know of further developments

regards

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

Hi

I have also this problem in Iran, when inserting sim card and connect by GPRS via it.

WiFi recognize routers only for 2 seconds and a "not in range" message will appear.

To establish a WiFi connection again,I should factory reset tablet.

Machine Type:1838CTO , Kernel is : 2.6.36.3 , Build:  A310_02_0039_0089_ROW , Unit Serial:MP0734V

What's DOS?

Re: problem with 3G and WiFi

Hi

I tried with a simcard from TDC (Denmark), and with this simcard there is no problem - WiFi is still working without factory reset
