ServRAID M5025 on RD220

I have a RD 220 3798-IFU - all drive bays are in use as 1 RAID device

 

I want to add external DAS to my RD 220.

Lenovo no longer makes external storage so I'm looking at IBM's EXP2512 with the ServRAID M5025 controller.

 

Any reason why this confuration would not work in this system

off hand, i can't think of any reason why that combination wouldn't work.

Presume I can use it with the RAID adapter already installed (3798-IFU model came with integrated RAID)
