Thinkserver RD120 6447-18U Raid Configuration

I seem to be having an issue with a Raid 5 array consisting of 6 seagate 2TB drives (9.1TB total)

 

The array seems to create ok (after I updated the firmware and the bios).  However when I go to install 2008R2 x64, it sees 2 partitions that I did not create and cannot change.  1 partition is 2TB, the other is 7.x TB.  The OS installs fine on the 2TB partition but then I go to disk management and cannot manage that other 7.x TB

 

Reading a bunch of information on this, I can't make heads or tails of what is actually supported by my ServeRaid 8k controller installed in this box nor if this is actually an issue with the array configuration or the OS itself
