Cannot Load Driver to Update BIOS

Trying to update C20 BIOS.

Error Message: Cannot load driver C:\LENOVO\FLASH\61JY48USA\PHLASHINT.SYS. Please check your accounts, if you have no administrator privilege, please login again! The driver has been blocked from loading Error code: 1275

I have the only account, which is as an administrator.

Right clicking ...\winphlash.exe to run as administrator does not help.

What else can I try?

this error could be linked to DEP.   open the system properties control panel, click the 'advanced' tab, click the settings button for performance, the click the DEP tab.   once here, add winplash.exe to the list by browsing to its path.

however, if you have an optical drive then i would recommend flashing via ISO rather than using the OS.   it's much safer.

Can I do this using the Roxio Creator Business Edition Version: 10.3.081 that came on this machine (4265-46U)?

windows 7 SP1 can burn ISOs straight from the shell.   double-click the ISO and you should have some options to burn.

otherwise, install ISO recorder.   it integrates into the shell and will burn straight to CD/DVD.   it's also dead simple.

roxio will work, too.

heck, just double-click the ISO and see what happens.   there's a good chance you'll already have an option to burn it to CD/DVD media.

i keep an old CDRW disc on hand just for BIOS updates so i don't keep wasting media.

Double-clicked the ISO file, which launched Roxio, which created the bootable CD-RW. Restarted the machine, which then updated the BIOS.

Couldn't be easier.

i had the same issue and this thread resolved it for me: much appreciated. i use Image Burn (freeware) for all my ISO tasks and it works great as well
