Hi All,
I would like to install the memory cooling fan on D20, but I am not sure the FRU-45J9607 is corrected part # ?
Can you give me some advise ...
From Hardware maintenance manual (53y4348.pdf) I can see the term "memory fan duct" as following stated
Q
For some computer models, you might need to remove the memory fan duct to access the memory slots. To remove the memory fan duct, remove the blue shipping clip, disconnect the memory fan cable from the system board, press inward on the two tabs, pivot the fan duct, and then disengage the other end of the duct.
Uq
Thanks.

if you need the entire assembly, you will likely need FRU 41R5655. this is listed in the system as a "memory chiller" and "memory fan cooler" and is, if i'm not mistaken, the fan and upper plate that snaps into the bracket on the memory banks. the number you have is just for the fan.

Hi Eric,
Can you help me again .....
The memtioned of "memory chiller" & "memory fan cooler" seems can not buy it directly ?
Local vendor told me that I should buy the part # of 43R2036 (ECC RDIMM) then it will come with the fan cooler & chiller ??
Do you have any idea or you can give me the sales # for those two parts ?
Thanks.

i'm not sure if lenovo RDIMM modules include the cooler assembly. call lenovo support in taiwan and see what they say. your reseller very well may be correct. unfortunately i'd have to pull one out of a box to confirm and the warehouse is about an 8-hour drive from here. ![]()

Dear duckys20,
Here update to you the information that we can not buy the Fan, memory cooling from Lenovo but buy the RDIMM which will come with those modules.
Presume you also have same D20 model with me that use UDIMM which do not have those modules.....
Regards,
