New ThinkStation D10 and S10 models to be available soon

Lenovo recently announced it's new line of personal workstations, the ThinkStation. The S10 features a single processor, while the D10 features dual Intel quad core processors. David Hill, our head of design, blogged about them previously Here.

Tim! That looks awesome! The "Raw Power" of that looks and probably works like a star! I wont be purchasing it anytime soon since I am under 25 unemployed and pretty well broke I have absolutely no need for a workstation but I think It will appeal to businessmen.

the cases are reminiscent of the IBM xSeries eServers and have an industrial, no-frills rawness to them. i'm surprised to see so many negative reactions posted on lenovoblogs regarding the design.

hey mark, next time you walk past a D10 in the lab, would you mind grabing a tape measure and posting the case dimensions please? the current tsbook.pdf lists the S10 as being 6.9"W x 19.0"D x 16.8"H @ 36 lbs but the D10 isn't included yet.

The ThinkStation reminds me somehow to the IntelliStation I had for a couple of years, but which in the meantime I gave over to relatives as sort of fail-safe working horse computer. However, the new ThinkStation looks optical better now and I'am sure it will be an equally good working horse machine.

the thinkstation D10 was added to lenovo.com this morning. i bit the bullet and ordered one even though i just ordered an X300 yesterday. estimated ship date is 6/6/08 so i'm hoping it doesn't take that long. i configured it with dual 2.00GHz quad core xeon processors so it should prove to be a tiny bit faster than my thinkpads.

the plan now is to use the D10 as my work machine and X300 for business/travel. the D10 will be my first non-portable computer in 13+ years. now i need to find a place to put it.
