Thinkstation S10 - Graphic Card only beeps

Hello! 

I have a Problem with my two Thinkstations S10, Intel Q9550, 8 GB RAM SSD HD  

- Nvidia Graphics card works fine ( Quadro 1700 / Quadro 3400 ) 

- ATI X1950 card works fine ( X1950 ) 

in both machines

I wanted to switch to an ATI HD5750 card - machine does not boot, no picture only some beeps at startup. The ATI works perfect in my other machines ( Asus Boards )   

What can be the problem ?? Any Idea ??

welcome to the forum!

the short answer is that desktop/gaming cards aren't supported in thinkstation systems.   you could try freeing up some ROM space in the BIOS by disabling unused devices, but there's no guarantee this will work.   lenovo doesn't support non-workstation graphics cards so it's up to the end-user to find a solution in such cases or revert to a supported workstation card.

but, try disabling devices and see if that helps.   it's certainly worth a try.

You have conected the card with the powersuply?

Stromkabel an der ATI angeschlossen?
