s20 4105 slow bootup after RAM upgrade [ Edited ]

Hi,

-Factory built  s20 came with 4gb of RAM.

-I updated an additonal 8gb of RAM (2x4)

-Windows 7 identifies 12gb of RAM

-System now boots very slow when windows 7 logo comes up it takes 4-5 minutes to go beyond that 

any suggestions..

If you remove the new memory and go back to your original config, does the system start booting in a normal amount of time again?

From what you described, it sounds like a driver/SW issue.  If the system is taking minutes to get past the Windows7 "splash" screen, then BIOS is already done doing what it needs to do.

What are the details on the memory you're using (type, speed, vendor, vendor PN, etc.)?

Its running fine now.  All I did was some Lenovo software updates its booting normal.
