Re: Access Connections 5.20 VERY VERY SLOW, produces errors...

For the record, this is Windows XP Pro, all latest SPs and updates, running all the latest Lenovo updates as well.

I pretty much keep all my computers updated to the latest of all software they have on them at all times... I'm compulsive that way. :-)

i had similar problem - was not able to turn on WWAN adapter. i have x200s, Windows 7 32bit beta,

removal of AC 5.20 and reverting to previous version solved the issue

I just installed the latest version of Access Connections, 5.20, on my T400, and whenever I open it to do ANYTHING, it pegs the processor and responds extremely slowly (I'm talking 5 to 10 seconds to respond to a mouse click).

Also, after I installed it, I got the message: "The system contains incompatible wireless wan drivers"

What  the heck is Lenovo doing out there?  A bright shiny new version of Access Connections, and it makes my laptop even less usable than before!

Anyone having this problem?

Tim,

I posted a new driver that should fix the WWAN issue.

Access connections 5.x Vista is slow due to the animation that was added, we opened an SR with microsoft and they provided some tips which is implemented in AC 5.21 scheduled to release in 2 weeks.

Re: Access Connections 5.20 VERY VERY SLOW, produces errors...

So let’s summarize:

1.       Lenovo releases  software that requires drivers that are not available

2.       Lenovo releases software that they know responds slowly in Vista, and that will require an update for it to work properly

3.       Lenovo provides links to a driver described as version 1.0.1046.216, but it really is 1.0.1046.215

Seems Lenovo might have forgotten to buy the QA dept from IBM...

Re: Access Connections 5.20 VERY VERY SLOW, produces errors...

Thank you for posting this new driver!

AC 5.20 works now fine with the new WWAN-drivers!

When will be this driver "official" on lenovo homepage?

Could you tell us, thats the purpose of the Intel Cliffside Utility? There seems no download for this tool?

Re: Access Connections 5.20 VERY VERY SLOW, produces errors...

I found another potential solution - it's the LOG file!!
turns out that if you turn logging on in access solutions, it continues to append to this file forever. once mine got up to about 10MB, access connection response time disintegrated.

solution:

1) open the log file to find out where it is stored ( it is an htm file and will be opened in explorer )
2) close the log file
3) turn off logging
4) delete the log file and backup log files
