Problem belongs to the ThinkVintage software "Access Connections". Can't send a SMS to the following number: *100# Only "0-9" and "+-" are allowed. The number "*100#" is important for prepaid cards to check the actual credit.
I think you may misunderstanding the purpose of numbers such as *100#. The number is interpreted by your service provider as a command sequence and processed accordingly.
The command sequences are intended for direct entry from the keyboard of a phone, and are not "dialable numbers" per se. To send an SMS a dialable number must be entered in the "to" field, so SMS is inherently not suitable for sending command sequences.
If you need to send a command sequence, you would need to use the AT comand set dialing capabilities of the 3G modem.
