Having problems accessing a network repository (System Update) setup by Group policy
Setup is this:
XP SP3 clients,
Setup a Network Share used update retriever to donwload updates
Got the .adm files and setup Group Policy "repository location" to the shared drive
Now the issue is that on a client PC where logged on user has local admin rights the setup works like a breeze
On clients where logged on user has no local admin rights System Update starts normally, scans the network repository but then prompts for a username and password to access the repository.
In the meanwhile I have granted "everyone" "domain users" "domain computers" full access and still no go
I dont want to have to modify registry on client when all settings should be accomplished by the Group Policy template provided.
Anyone had same problem before?
Will post logs if needed

Used the mapdrv utility to generate encrypted user name and password strings but what the manual does not state is ON A CLIENT MACHINE WITH NO LOCAL ADMIN RIGHTS. only here it generates a value for pw
copy/paste to policy and now works
