Lenovo Software Update NOT detecting installed updates

Setup: Lenovo W520 on Windows 7 Pro

After Lenovo Software Update, the "WiDi driver for Intel cards for Windows 7 64 bit" under the "Recommended updates" won't install. It says "click here for  manual install" .

After that, it says a newer product is already installed.

Then I reboot and run Lenovo Software Update, the "WiDi driver for Intel cards for Windows 7 64 bit" is still shown on the choices.

There might be a bug in Lenovo Software that needs revision to detect the already installed WiDi drivers.

Re: Lenovo Software Update NOT detecting installed updates

It's a mistake.  The WiDi driver was recently repackaged into a single 32-bit and 64-bit combo installer, which replaced the earlier separate installers for 32-bit and 64-bit.  However both packages are still available on TVSU, due to Lenovo's error.  The 64-bit package will not install when the newer combo package is already installed as it is in your case.

Your system is up to date despite what System Update is telling you.  I expect this mistake will be fixed soon (I know it is already being worked on), or you could also just hide the update in System Update if you don't want to be bothered about it anymore.

Sorry for this inconvenience.
