Gotcha. Thanks for clarifying.

This recent update must not have addressed the issues I described in my previous post, the odd shutdown behavior remains unchanged.
Installation of this update generated 6 red-X errors in Application Event viewer as shown below. There are only 2 distinct errors but repeated 3 times each, as they are identical in all respects except for the Description field where it says "The following information is part of the event: (5104)"....
3 errors showed the event number (5104), the other 3 (5428)
Event Type: Error
Event Source: PC-Doctor
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1
Date: 6/12/2010
Time: 10:49:41 AM
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( PC-Doctor ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: (5104) Asapi: (10:49:41:0310)(5104) DEFECT.LOCALIZATION - Error -- Missing String: scriptlets : button1 locale: PCDLocale: language = en, customer = lenovo, variant = ltt.
Any idea what the event numbers (5104) and (5428) would indicate?

Frank

I have an SL500 (2746-AHG).
I have ThinkVantage Toolbox ver. 6.0.5514.55
When I start ThinkVantage Toolbox, it says there is an updated version to download: 6.0.5514.60
If I try to download it, it appears the error message "Lost Internet Connectivity"
What is weird is that on lenovo.com website, there is no version 6.0.5514.60...
Can somebody explain me what's happening?

Exactly the same thing is happening to me with my t61p. I have tried the download without or without the toolbox open, no go. I tried it with IE8 or Firefox running just fine at the same time as the download, no go. Also tried it with no other apps open, again, no go.
It's a puzzle!

Happy to hear the update process is now working properly. We discovered a small problem on our server that was preventing the update from completing on Vista 32-bit systems.

Stephen,
I just noticed that the System Tool Box application reports a different version number than Windows Add/Remove Programs.
Help/About in the application reports v6.0.5514.60 while Add/Remove Programs reports v6.0.5514.55
Don't know if this is expected behavior or has anything to do with my particular issue, but thought it worth mentioning.

Frank
