After updates and restart there was a message "PowerManager stopped working..." right after startup.
I have tried uninstalling it and re-installing it manually, but it still gives the same error using Version 2.50
I am running Vista x64

Same problem here,
Explorer hangs at start. I uninstalled the Power Management, and everything was ok.
The last update (2.5) has definately a problem.
System : T60 (8744-5bu)
OS : Vista 32

Same here with my T60 Windows XP SP3. After Power Manager last update, I'm unable to start it. I get "A problem has occured with PWMUI.EXE [...]", also taskbar gauge cannot start with the same error.
But pressing Fn+F3 results with "power use slider" and it works.

Hi,
I have tested the update of Power Manager and could not see nay issue. however, I have made this suing TVSU, where I have updated also all other apps/drivers were installed too.
I assume, that this might be the point, however this needs to be verified first.
Due to this situation I would advice following:
- delete Power Manager
- verify, whether you have also the latest version of following applicaitons installed to:
a) Power Management driver
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen
b) Power Manager
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen
c) Hotkey driver
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen
d) System interface driver
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/documen
<if there is a missmatch in any of the apps, then that might cause trouble>
It's importatnt, that you also install the apps/drivers in the same order as I described above.
Let me know, if this makes any change to your situation.

Still the same error ![]()
First I uninstalled PM Driver, PM, Hotkey and System Interface Driver. Rebooted and I have installed all these stuff in order you've pointed rebooting after each installation. I'm still unabla to run Power Manager.
Looking into Event Log I can see few erros related to PM:
Event source: Application Error
Event ID: 1000
Description:
Faulting application pwmui.exe, version 1.0.0.0, faulting module pwmuictl.dll, version 1.0.0.0, fault address 0x00018014.
Event source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting
Event ID: 1000
Description:
Faulting application pwmui.exe, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 49e6b76e, faulting module pwmuictl.dll, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 49e6b767, debug? 0, fault address 0x00018014.
Maybe it's .NET related somehow? I have uninstalled .NET 3.1 SP1 and still the same.
I have noticed, that Power Manager comes with Visual C++ Redistributable. I've had newer version (2008) already installed - isn't it a problem here?

Hi,
in your post I don't quite understand the part of the error: ".NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting" when the latest version of Power Manager should more then less work only with .NET 3.0 .
Just for confirmation, do you have following .NET installed on your system? :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?Fa
I assume yes, but I want to be sure as the error message seems pretty funny.

.NET Framework 3.0 is installed.

Yes, I have .NET 3.0 SP1 installed. But - to be sure - I'll try to reinstall it.
