I'm not using ThinkVantage AutoLock but it is always showing in the system tray. I can't find an option to remove it from the system tray. it possible to do this?
I know I could uninstall it. However, I don't want to do this in case I encounter a situation when I would like to use it.
Thanks

Warning: If you are not comfortable editing the Windows Registry read no further.
The program is found in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr
The Value Name is ALCKRESI.EXE
The Value data is C:\Program Files\Lenovo\AutoLock\ALCKRESI.EXE
If and ONLY if you are comfortable with editing the registry you can delete this entry from the Run list.
Or you can install a tool such as Ccleaner, which will allow you to disable this item from starting without you having to delve into the registry.
Either of these steps would leave the program in a functional state so you could start it from Control Panel or the Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools choice in the Start Menu, but the program will not start automatically.
You could also just uninstall the program.
(Sorry for all the edits. Too early in the morning to spell correctly).
