I've recently ran into an issue with Rescue & Recovery 4.23 & Productivity Center on the new T420i laptops. When I attempt to install these programs I get a message saying the system is not supported. I've never had this issue before with any previous models of laptops that I've purchased. When I look under supported systems for Rescue Recovery v4.23 the T420 is not listed as shown the in the list below:
Supported systems
I called our local hardware supplier who has a service contract with lenovo they stated that R&R is supported but it's required that I have some time of hidden partition on the laptop to identify it. He also sent me a link to a product support page that details it's supported. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/ww/pdf/t420_t520_datashe
As it goes our imaging process is as follows:
- PXE boot to a Zenworks Imaging Server
- Delete all partions
- Push a Windows XP image with limited drivers that I prepared with MS Sysprep
- Use System Update to pull drivers from a local repository I have setup to update all needed drivers
At this point a R&R package attempts to install and also productivity center (which I forgot to mention earlier). A screen immediately appears that states these applications are not supported on this model. I've also attempted to manually install these apps from the website with the same problem. I'm really frustrated as I've never had an issue like this with any previous models and I can't see why Lenovo which change something like this. If anyone knows a fix please let me know.

I just found a newer version of rescue recovery that seems to work on the T420 and also noticed the supported device list updated to include the model.
