After installing Windows 7 64bit on my ThinkPad T500, I have been unable to do backups with Rescue and Recovery 4.3. Every attempt fails with a popup message "The backup was canceled." (sic). The message appears close to the end the backup and happens for both full and incemental backups. I am backing up to an external USB drive. Any suggestions for how to troubleshoot and fix this problem would be highly appreciated. I was using R&R previously to backup my Windows XP 32 bit system with great success.

I tried uninstalling the Rescue and Recovery software, downloaded version 4.5 manually and installed that version. This has solved my problem. I am using Windows7 Professional on Thinkpad T420.

Look in C:\SWHARE for rr.log and engine.log.
Canceled/user canceled at the end of the backup process sounds like the wrong message got issued. Did 4.5 solve the last post problem. Can't say. Maybe the 4.5 did correct it. Original user failed in RNR 4.3 .
Typical at end of backup process message MIGHT indicate an out of space condition. Logs needed.

Humm. How did you ever get a base FULL backup?
4.5 does have a few bugs.
